I often start my day with a smoothie. If you’re a busy mum or professional like me, you don’t always have time for an elaborate meal. A smoothie only takes a few minutes to make and is packed full of essential vitamins and minerals.
Two handfuls of frozen strawberries
1/2 cup unsweetened oat milk
Two tablespoons of unsweetened coconut yogurt
One tablespoon of flax seeds
Place all ingredients in the blender and blend until your desired consistency.
MARIE’S TOP TIPS
If you want a more desert-like smoothie, use less oat milk. Add cinnamon to help boost your metabolism and strengthen your immune system. Add four walnut halves and blend for a few seconds if you want texture and healthy fats. I often add protein powder. Substitute oat milk for either soy or rice (unsweetened). There are no rules. Experiment and adjust to what’s in your refrigerator or freezer.
